coming back

 "How do you pick up the threads of an old life? How do you go on, when in your heart you begin to understand... there is no going back?"

I'm not going to say much, because I don't even know how to begin to say how my first year of college changed me. 

I just know I'm different. and it's a good thing. 

It's like I've started travelling down a certain road with my fellow classmates - a beautiful road, one of twists and turns and struggles and heartbreaks, but one that leads us toward the truth. and it's good.  Oh so good. I wouldn't have anything taken back.  Even the really tough times built me up and I wouldn't be where I am now without them.  Each obstacle was a blessing. And the good times we had were amazing.  there are so many beautiful memories...

but now we're separated for the summer and I come home and everyone else is on their respective roads, different journeys.
And we can't just go back to the beginning.  There is no going back.  We wouldn't want to go back. 

So it's hard to pick up the threads.
